YZNU students Won the First Prize in Chongqing Japanese Recitation Contest for College Students
4 students from School of Foreign Languages, YZNU participated in 2013 Chongqing Japanese Recitation Contest for College Students held in Chongqing Normal University on November 23rd. In the contest Wu Jiahui, junior student of Japanese major won the first prize, sophomore of Japanese major Guan Xian won the third prize, junior student An Nian and sophomore Ling Yi of Bilingual English-Japanese took honorable mention.
The contest consists of 2 parts: prepared recitation and impromptu recitation; it sets 3 groups: group of junior students of Japanese major, group of sophomore, and group for college students studying Japanese as the second foreign language. It held the prepared contest in the morning that the constants made a recitation for 3 to 5 minutes and in the afternoon the impromptu contest that the constants chose a passage on the spot and recited for 3 to 4 minutes.
The contest set 3 first prizes, 6 second prizes, 9 third prizes and several honorable mentions. In the fierce competition Wu Jianhui won a first prize with her perfect pronunciation and calm manner. This is the first time for Japanese major students won a first prize in municipal contest.
Information from the organizer: about 30 constants in Japanese major and other majors who study it as a second foreign language participated in the contest. And they are from Chongqing University, Southwest University, Chongqing Normal University, Sichuan International Studies University (SISU), Chongqing University of Technology, Chongqing Nanfang Translators College, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Yangtze Normal University and Applied Foreign Languages School of SISU.
